tate britain

just been wandering through the 70s and 80s landscapes (room 28 tate britain) and felt connected with them though they are not very visual works, no colour but given the ice and snow and leaden skies outside the greyscale work is on tune

war of the worlds

“I just found this site where you can see hundreds of different covers for War of the Worlds.
This one was my favorite, but I’d definitely recommend taking a look at
the site. It’s really amazing to see the range of styles artists used
to present the same book. Plus, you can really get a sense of the
different design trends over the past century.” (lifted from Becky’s blog)

Hampstead Heath Kenwood walk

walk over Hampstead Heath to Kenwood

wednesday 23 July

meet parliament hill cafe 10.45. The cafe is on the Parliamnet Hill Fields bit of Hampstead Heath between the bandstand and the Hampstead Heath staff yard.

View Google Map
the marker labelled “A” on the map shows the approximate location of the cafe

To get there you can take a London Overground train from Barking/Leytonstone to Gospel Oak or from Stratford/Hackney/Dalston to Gospel Oak then 5 minute walk.

Or 214 bus from Liverpool Street

Or tube to Kentish Town (Northern Line on Barnet branch) then 214 or C2 bus last 1 mile

Anyone that lets me know they are coming might well be waited for if they are late

Kenwood has a good cafe (sandwhich cost about £3.50, coffee £1.50) and great art -

morandi’s studio

Bologna has a gallery dedicated to Morandi that includes a reconstruction of his studio. And it’s full of all those old familiar bottles and he covered the window so the light is so subdued while outside you get this stunning Italian light. Maybe he should have moved to Manchester?

it’s easy to add a comment

at the end of each posting it says something like

Posted in exhibition | no Comments

you just click on the “no comments” (or 1 comment or whatever) then fill in the form that appears.

The puzzling bit that says something like “please add 4 and 8″ is there to stop spam. You have to add the 2 numbers and enter them in the box (so in this case type in 12)

When you’ve written what you want in the comment box, then click the submit button.

Finally you will have to click the home button at top left to return to posts page
